Weather warning: Severe storms expected in northeast Ohio on Saturday

There will be heavy rain at times, as well as thunder and lightning. Tornadoes cannot be ruled out either.

CLEVELAND – A weather advisory will be in effect Saturday as a combination of heat, humidity and an approaching storm system will mean multiple severe weather events in Northeast Ohio.

WHAT AND WHEN

Rain will begin before dawn on Saturday. Isolated showers and thunderstorms will become more frequent throughout the morning and into midday. A burst of energy in the afternoon will increase the severe weather potential, lasting until 9 or 10 p.m.

FORECAST: Milder on Friday, weather warning on Saturday

EFFECTS

Heavy rain is expected at times, and lightning and thunder are also expected. In the afternoon there is also a risk of strong storms and hail. Tornadoes cannot be ruled out.

This will definitely affect all your outdoor plans. The streets will likely be full of puddles and there is a possibility of flooding.

NEED

For now, pay attention to the weather. These storms can be fierce, and with so many people out on a summer afternoon, everyone needs shelter. The heavy rain may require a change in travel routes.
