PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Pender County residents are being warned about a person claiming to be a deputy with the Pender County Sheriff’s Office.

“This person is calling residents of our county informing them that they have an arrest warrant or missed a court date and telling them to report to the sheriff’s office to serve the said warrants. He also claims that personal computers have been hacked and demands money be transferred to various accounts. Please be aware that this is a scam,” PCSO wrote on its Facebook page.
