Man killed in hit-and-run on Bannerman Road Thursday morning

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Bannerman Road early Thursday morning, according to the Leon County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers arrived at the scene in the area of ​​Bannerman Road and Blue Smoke Drive after receiving a call about the incident around 8 a.m. Thursday. When officers arrived, a man was found on the side of the road, according to LCSO.

The sheriff’s office determined the man had been hit by a car. He was taken to a local hospital where he died, according to LCSO.

Later that day, LCSO officers caught up with a vehicle believed to be involved in the crash near the intersection of North Meridian and Ox Bottom Road.

Because of the accident, Bannerman Road was closed on Thursday at around 9 a.m. The road was reopened shortly before 1 p.m.

No arrests have been made so far.
