HOOD RIVER – On June 27, at approximately 11:45 a.m., a semi-truck collision occurred on the Hood River-White Salmon Interstate Bridge, causing severe damage. Persons crossing the bridge at the time were struck and injured in the incident.

The bridge has now been opened to traffic.

For safety reasons and to allow engineers to thoroughly assess the damage, the bridge will be closed until further notice. “We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding as we make safety our highest priority and are working toward a solution,” said a press release from the Port of Hood River. “Please seek alternate routes and stay tuned for updates.”
