Suspected drug dealer arrested after investigation in Slidell | News

Detectives with the St. Tammany Sheriff’s Drug Enforcement Division conducted an investigation last week that culminated in the execution of a search warrant on June 20 at a residence in the 100 block of W Chamale Cove in Slidell.

During their investigation, detectives seized counterfeit fentanyl pills, marijuana, illegal THC products, illegally possessed tapentadol, psilocybin mushrooms, various drug paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking, and an illegally possessed handgun.

When the detectives arrived, there were two small children in the house.

As a result of the investigation, 21-year-old Isaiah Malik Torregano was arrested and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center. He was charged with the following:

  • 2 counts of LRS 40:966A – Distribution of a Schedule I controlled dangerous substance (marijuana/THC)
  • 1 count of LRS 40:967A Distribution of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance (fentanyl)
  • 1 count of LRS 40:967A Distribution of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance (tapentadol)
  • 1 count under LRS 40:966A/C Possession of a Schedule I controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute (marijuana)
  • 1 count under LRS 40:966A/C – Possession of a Schedule I controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute (psilocybin mushrooms)
  • 1 count pursuant to LRS 40:967C Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (Tapentadol)
  • 1 count of LRS 14:95E Illegal carrying of weapons
  • 1 count under LRS 14:91.13 Unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of persons under 17 years of age
  • 1 count according to LRS 40:1023 Possession of drug paraphernalia

Investigators also contacted the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services.

“This is another message to potential drug dealers in St. Tammany Parish,” said Sheriff Randy Smith. “Your business is not welcome here and we will arrest you.”
