TDOT and VDOT close construction sites due to July 4th holiday

Road construction will not impede motorists in Tennessee and Virginia during the Fourth of July holiday. The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will lift all construction-related lane closures on interstates and state roads from noon Wednesday, July 3 through 6 a.m. Monday, July 8. VDOT will lift many highway construction sites and lift most lane closures on interstates and other major roads from noon Wednesday, July 3 through noon Friday, July 5. Officials say that while lane closures will be lifted in most locations, motorists may encounter semi-permanent construction sites that will remain.
