Man drowns in Lake Houston Wednesday night

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A man drowned in Lake Houston Wednesday evening.

Kansas City firefighters were called to Houston Lake for an apparent drowning at 8:30 p.m.

When crews arrived, they discovered an older male floating in the water near a small dock.

The man appeared to be fishing on the dock. At one point he entered the water without witnesses.

It is unclear why the man ended up in the water.

Rescue crews pulled the man from the water and began CPR while he was en route to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of the apparent drowning remains under investigation.

The man’s age and identity have not yet been released.
