Police investigate central car in southwest Miami-Dade – NBC 6 South Florida

Police investigations are underway in southwest Miami-Dade early Thursday morning.

The crime scene is located at South Dixie Highway and SW 127th Avenue.

In the middle of the road you could see a car with its rear window smashed and surrounded by police officers.

A man at the scene who gave only his first name, John, said he heard about five gunshots and then saw a car speeding along at speeds between 5 and 10 miles per hour.

“The car was coming slowly north here on U.S. 1, and there were people parked everywhere trying to stop the car because it was rolling slowly,” he said. “People were trying to break the windows … to see what was going on. And (the person in the car) is the one who got hit.”

The witness said he took cover because the shots sounded very close.

“Screaming, banging, metal on metal, and suddenly I even hear the helicopter coming. A car full of bullet holes, man,” John said. “We have to put an end to the violence out here.”
