New Delhi: Aam Admi Party MP Sanjay Singh was relieved on Thursday as his suspension from the Rajya Sabha ended. He expressed happiness that he has now been granted permission to enter Parliament after nearly a year of suspension.

Expressing his gratitude, AAP MP Sanjay Singh said, “I would like to express my deepest gratitude and thanks to Chairman of the Rajya Sabha Jagdeep Dhankar for lifting my suspension. Today, Parliament proceedings in the Rajya Sabha also begin and President Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate the session.”

He said, “You all know what is happening to us that the elected Prime Minister is in jail and was arrested by the CBI yesterday… We will definitely boycott the President’s address because this is not the President’s own statement, she is reading the government’s statement. She is reading the government’s written speeches. So we will boycott the President’s address…”

Notably, after getting permission to enter Parliament, Sanjay Singh along with other Aam Aadmi Party MPs held a protest rally against the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national president Arvind Kejriwal on the Parliament premises ahead of President Droupadi Murmu’s address on Thursday.

The party MPs held placards reading “Stop misusing ED and CBI” and “Dictatorship will not work”. Earlier, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court on Wednesday remanded Kejriwal to three days of CBI custody in connection with the excise policy case.

After considering all the submissions from both sides, Judge Amitabh Rawat allowed Arvind Kejriwal to remain in judicial custody till June 29, 2024.

During the remand, the court allowed Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal to meet him for 30 minutes and his lawyer to meet him for 30 minutes daily. The court also allowed him to carry his prescribed medicines while in remand.
