short respite on Thursday before another summer rise at the end of the week

THURSDAY: In the wake of the front, the high pressure system will move southward during the day. A few clouds and patches of fog may appear at the start of the day, while the sun will shine again and highs will rise to the 30-35 degrees Celsius typical for late June. One or two sudden showers cannot be ruled out – especially east of Memphis. Skies will remain mostly clear and the weather calm, while lows will fall back to 21-25 degrees Celsius.

FRIDAY: Late Friday in the Mid-South will see generally typical weather with a mix of sunshine and clouds, the chance of a sudden shower, and highs again climbing into the low to mid 90s. Humidity will continue to decrease with the south winds moving in. Lows will only fall to the mid 70s by early Saturday with passing clouds.

EXTENDED FORECAST: Our increase in warmth and humidity will push highs above 90 degrees — feel like 100-110 degrees, again by Saturday afternoon with a mix of sun and clouds. Our next front will move in on Sunday, increasing the risk of widespread downpours to round out the weekend. After a dry Monday, we’ll trend back toward more heat and humidity by the middle of next week, eventually leading to another chance of rain around July 4.
