Teenager killed in Sacramento shooting was a football player at Cordova High School

THE MOTIVE FOR THE SHOOTING HAS NOT YET BEEN DISCOVERED. TONIGHT WE LEARNED THAT A CORDOVA HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT WAS KILLED IN A SHOOTING IN SACRAMENTO. IT HAPPENED ON JUNE 15 ON MARIN AVENUE. THAT’S IN THE COLONIAL MANOR NEIGHBORHOOD BETWEEN 65TH STREET AND POWER INN ROAD. THE CORPORATE OFFICE IDENTIFIED THE VICTIM AS 17-YEAR-OLD ELIJAH WALLACE. 17-year-old killed in Sacramento shooting, identified as Cordova HS football player

A teenager shot earlier this month has been identified by the Sacramento County coroner’s office. Elijah Wallace, 17, of Rancho Cordova, was killed in a shooting along Marin Avenue near 77th Street on June 15. The Folsom Cordova Unified School District told KCRA 3 on Wednesday that Wallace was enrolled at Cordova High School for the upcoming school year and had played football for the school in the past. Sacramento police said Wednesday that detectives are still investigating the shooting and are working to identify suspects and a motive.
