Russian attack on Nikopol: 2 dead, 2 injured

Two people were killed and two others injured in a Russian artillery attack on Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Governor Serhii Lysak reported on May 9.

The southeastern city of Nikopol lies on the banks of the mostly dry river Kakhovka reservoirdirectly opposite the Russian-occupied Enerhodar and the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plantmaking it a regular target of Russian attacks.

A 62-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman were killed in the attack, and two men aged 39 and 67 were injured, Lysak said.

Two houses, a gas pipe, a shop and farm buildings were hit by the strike, and five residential buildings were damaged.

At least six people, including a six-year-old girl and a 91-year-old woman, were injured in Nikopol on May 7 during a day of heavy Russian attacks.
