Suspend Owaisi from Lok Sabha: BJP’s NV Subhash

Hyderabad: AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi’s Lok Sabha membership should be suspended over his “Jai Palestine” speech in Parliament during his swearing-in as an MP, demanded NV Subhash, official spokesperson of the BJP’s Telangana unit.

Owaisi was born and brought up on Indian soil. How can he raise a slogan on behalf of another country while being inaugurated as a member of the Indian Parliament? he asked, saying Owaisi can express his support for Muslims of other countries in any forum but not in a place as solemn as our Parliament House.

The swearing-in ceremony in Parliament is a sacred event as the elected members take an oath expressing their promise and will to protect the Constitution, Subhash said, adding that chanting the name of a foreign country is like raising a slogan in favour of an enemy country.

Owaisi cares least about the welfare of the people of his own community here but about the people of other countries and this is just a ploy to gain cheap popularity in the temple of Indian democracy, he said, demanding suspension of Owaisi’s membership of the Lok Sabha.
