Tadoba: Tadoba lifts suspension of drivers and tour guides | News from Nagpur

Nagpur: Five days before the closure of tiger reserves due to monsoon, the Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR) allowed over 35 suspended guides and drivers of safari vehicles to enter from Wednesday. The drivers and guides were suspended after over 150 tourists, drivers and guides in nearly 25 safari vehicles hit a tigress Roma (T-114) on the Khatoda-Tadoba road on May 17. Anand Reddy, deputy director (core), TATR, issued two separate suspension orders on May 27 and June 1, 2024, after the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) criticised the incident and asked whether it was eco-tourism or eco-terrorism. As per the orders, around 20 guides and drivers, who would have remained suspended till June 30, were asked to join. Meanwhile, the NTCA has sought a report on the closure of the country’s tiger reserves due to the monsoon. The parks will remain closed for three months from July to September. TNN
