Longview Taco Bell employee killed in attempted robbery

LONGVIEW, Texas (KETK) – Longview police said a Taco Bell employee was shot and killed Wednesday morning after an unknown suspect attempted to rob the restaurant.

According to a press release, police responded to a shooting in the parking lot of Taco Bell 2553 Judson Road at around 12:40 a.m. Restaurant employees were reportedly outside as the power went out in the area when an unknown suspect approached them and attempted to rob them.

The suspect shot an employee and stole a car, Longview police said. The employee was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The car was found nearby and police said they are actively investigating with assistance from Texas Department of Public Safety rangers.

“A suspect has already been identified,” a press release said. “Further information will be released as the investigation progresses.”
