Socorro Police: 3 men arrested for 2023 shooting, 2 others arrested on other charges

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Socorro Police arrested five men on Tuesday, June 25. Three of the men are in connection with the 2023 shooting that occurred at Jardin De Flores Park.

In cooperation with the U.S. Marshals’ Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, Socorro Police arrested the following men in connection with the shooting:


  • Cesar Caldera, 19 years old
    • Charged with four counts of aggravated assault (mass shooting), bail set at $600,000
  • Adrian Alejandro Rosales, 20 years old
    • Charged with four counts of aggravated assault (mass shooting), bail set at $600,000
  • Kevin Munoz, 20 years old
    • Charged with four counts of aggravated assault (mass shooting), bail set at $600,000

According to the Socorro Police Department, the shooting occurred on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Jardin De Flores Park in the city of Socorro, 253 Flor Margarita Blvd.

According to Socorro police, four people were injured in the shooting.

The incident subsequently led to a “retaliatory shooting” in El Paso that left two people dead, according to Socorro police.

Socorro police said they arrested two more men on June 25 on other charges:

  • Jesus Daniel Lara, 19 years old
    • Charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 2 (>=4G<400G), bail set at $35,000
  • Alejandro Fuentes-Lara, 20 years old
    • Charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 2 (>=4G<400G), bail set at $35,000

“This investigation has taken some time and unfortunately, in incidents like this, those involved are often unwilling to cooperate with police. Despite these obstacles, our investigators were able to identify and arrest those responsible for the shooting,” said Police Chief Robert Rojas.

According to Socorro police, the arrest was made in cooperation with several law enforcement agencies, including the El Paso Police Department’s Crimes Against the Persons Unit, the El Paso Police Department’s Gang Unit and agencies affiliated with the West Texas Anti-Gang Center.
