Your first warning of a short break from heat and humidity

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Much-needed rain fell across the Mid-South today, providing some relief from the extreme heat and humidity. A slight chance of rain remains tonight, but cooler temperatures will prevail tonight and tomorrow. Enjoy the break from the heat, as it will be brief as heat and humidity increase through the weekend.

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy with a slight chance of rain before midnight, along with a northeast wind 5 to 10 mph and overnight lows in the 70s.

THURSDAY: Partly cloudy with a northeast wind 10 to 15 mph and an afternoon high around 90.

THURSDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear with a light northeast wind and lows overnight around 25 degrees.

FRIDAY: Partly cloudy, hot and humid with highs of around 35 degrees and nighttime lows of around 25 degrees.

THE WEEKEND: Saturday will be partly cloudy with a slight chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms. Highs will be around 35 degrees Celsius and nighttime lows around 27 degrees Celsius. Sunday will be mostly cloudy with isolated to widely scattered showers. Highs will be around 35 degrees Celsius and nighttime lows around 24 degrees Celsius.

NEXT WEEK: Monday will be mostly sunny with afternoon highs of around 35 degrees and nighttime lows of around 21 degrees. Tuesday will be partly cloudy with highs of between 35 and 35 degrees and nighttime lows of around 25 degrees. Wednesday will be partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers or thunderstorms in the afternoon and highs of around 35 degrees.
