Man arrested for armed carjacking and shooting outside McDonald’s in South Nashville, Tennessee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man wanted in connection with an armed carjacking at a South Nashville McDonald’s has been arrested and charged with multiple crimes.

The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) announced that 23-year-old Ontario Graham of Dew Street has been charged with attempted murder, auto theft, aggravated assault and several weapons offenses for his actions during a carjacking on April 17.


According to police, shortly after 10:30 p.m. that evening, Graham approached a 41-year-old man who was standing in the drive-thru line at the McDonald’s in the 2200 block of Nolensville Pike. Graham, who was armed with a gun, approached the man on the driver’s side of his vehicle and attempted to steal the car.

As the man attempted to drive away, he was shot in the face. He then circled the parking lot three times and saw Graham confront a 39-year-old woman in her Nissan Cube parked in the McDonald’s parking lot. According to investigators, this prompted him to drive his vehicle toward Graham in an attempt to save the woman.

According to police, the man’s vehicle struck the Cube, causing significant damage to the driver’s door. Graham was knocked off his feet, got up and pulled the woman out of the Cube. He then got into the woman’s Cube and drove away.

The woman was unharmed, while the man was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment. Investigators said the cube was found on Louise Drive the next day.

On Wednesday, June 26, officers from MNPD’s East Precinct were dispatched to the area of ​​South 6th Street and Shelby Avenue for a report of an individual named Graham riding a stolen electric bike. Graham attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended.
