Accident involving three vehicles near river: eyewitness report

Shortly before 3:30 p.m., a three-vehicle accident occurred on Highway 61 North at the traffic light in front of the Merit Health River Region.

According to an eyewitness, a Chevy Silverado was traveling northbound and collided with two vehicles, a Hyundai and a Kia, that were stopped at the traffic light. “They collided so hard that the tire slipped out from under the rear of the vehicle,” said eyewitness John Kirby Day.

A Warren County firefighter was near the scene and was the first to arrive on the scene, reporting that a pregnant woman had been injured. Minutes later, another ambulance was dispatched to the scene to treat two more injured people.

Multiple Warren County units, including Engine 205, are en route to the crash, which currently has three people injured and partially closes the northbound lane.
