Woman and 10-year-old daughter die in suspected murder-suicide, Chandler police say

CHANDLER, AZ (AZFamily) — Chandler police are investigating the deaths of a woman and her young daughter as a suspected murder-suicide, investigators said Wednesday afternoon.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting at the Lumiere Chandler Condominiums near Priest Drive and Ray Road around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Police said a family friend went into an unlocked apartment and found the bodies of a woman and a girl.

Investigators say the bodies of a 49-year-old woman and her 10-year-old daughter were found in a bedroom. A firearm was also found nearby.

Their names will not be released until next of kin have been notified.
