SaaS Alerts extends the Respond module to Google Workplace

SaaS cybersecurity monitoring company SaaS Alerts is expanding its Respond module to provide automated remediation capabilities for Google Workspace for MSPs and MSSPs to provide to their end customers.

The expansion comes after SaaS Alerts received requests from some large partners to make the Respond module available to Google Workspace customers, Jim Lippie, CEO, told MSSP Alert. Most MSP and MSSP customers use Microsoft 365 by default, but about 10 to 20 percent of the market uses Google, Lippie said. Plus, some really large customers need Respond for Google Workspace.

Lippie said Google Workspace is widely adopted in the education market, which can be an important vertical market for MSPs and MSSPs.

“We have partners that have tens of thousands of users in this market,” he said. Lippie estimates that about half of SaaS Alerts’ 1,100 partners have at least one Google Workspace customer.

While SaaS Alerts has always monitored Google Workspace, the platform is now adding automated remediation in the form of the Respond module for the first time to cover Google’s Office suite.

Respond is one of three SaaS alerting modules. The other two are Manage and Report.

Respond for Google Workplace works the same way it does for Microsoft 365, Lippie said. It locks the account and removes all session tokens if it detects a problem.
