Washington teenager shot in South Seattle, police investigate

SEATTLE – Police are investigating after a 17-year-old boy was shot in Seattle’s Columbia City neighborhood on Tuesday evening.

According to the Seattle Police Department (SPD), someone called 911 before 8:30 p.m. to report a shooting near the intersection of S Snoqualmie St. and Martin Luther King Jr. Way S.

When police arrived, they found a teenager with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was treated at the scene and taken to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

Witnesses told police that the victim was driving on Martin Luther King Jr. Way S and turned onto S Snoqualmie St. Two suspects then fired shots from a gray Honda.

The suspects left the crime scene by car and have not yet been identified.

Another car nearby was also hit by gunfire.

No further victims were found.
