Employee found dead in chemical tank at Elizabethtown plant

ELIZABETHTOWN, Kentucky – A 59-year-old Campbellsville man was found dead in an Elizabethtown factory Tuesday.

Elizabethtown police were called around 4:30 p.m. after it was discovered that a Metalsa employee, later identified as Franklin Logsdon, had never clocked out and could not be located.

According to a statement from E-Town police, Metalsa employees “searched everywhere at the plant but could not find him.”

At some point during the search, police concluded that there was a high probability that Logsdon had fallen into a chemical tank.

The chemical tank was searched and Logsdon’s body was found inside. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Our deepest thoughts and prayers go out to Mr. Logsdon’s family, friends and colleagues,” Elizabethtown Police spokesman Chris Denham said in a statement Wednesday.
