Federal Way Police are doing their best to save kitty litter

Federal Way police responded when they received a call about a litter of one-week-old kittens found in a doghouse at a residence.

“Couldn’t find the mother anywhere. They ended up finding out that the mother had been hit by a car and died,” Federal Way Police Commander Kyle Buchanan told KIRO Newsradio.

“And so we collected the cats and ended up taking them to the Tacoma Humane Society,” he said.

Buchanan said it wasn’t a typical call, but they were happy to participate.

“We always try to help people…we are also here to help any BEING that needs help,” he added.

The four little kittens will remain at the Humane Society of Tacoma and Pierce County until they are ready for adoption.
