Missing York County man found dead – WSOC TV

YORK COUNTY, SC — A man missing since May was found dead Wednesday, according to the York County Sheriff’s Office.

Earlier this month, family members told Channel 9 that Zachary Patterson was last seen near a trailer park on Lesslie Highway.

They had put up missing persons notices in the community in the hope that someone would know his whereabouts.

Officials said they had been searching for Patterson for weeks, including talking to witnesses and locating his cellphone.

“He was last seen at a trailer park across from the Lesslie Fire Department on Lesslie Highway,” said Deputy Trent Faris of the YCSO. “That was the last time anyone saw him, but his cell phone was also seen up and down Lesslie Highway.”

According to the sheriff’s office, the phone was eventually turned off.

On Wednesday, officials announced that Patterson had been found dead.

However, the manner and cause of death remain under investigation.
