Woman in NYC attacked by stranger with baseball bat: NYPD

MANHATTAN, NY (PIX11) – A woman was attacked by strangers with a baseball bat in Lower Manhattan Tuesday afternoon and the incident was captured on a surveillance camera.

A 58-year-old woman was taken to a hospital near Monroe Street around 2 p.m. after two strangers attacked her from behind and beat her with a baseball bat, the NYPD said.

The woman suffered bruises on her legs and back after the attack, which was recorded on video, police said.

A video of the incident posted on social media appears to show two people running after her from behind, hitting her on the head and repeatedly punching her while hitting her lower body with the bat.

As of Wednesday, police had not arrested anyone.
