West Virginia woman killed in Texas shooting, 2 arrested

POLK COUNTY, Texas (WVNS) — Two people have been arrested after a Bluefield, West Virginia woman was killed in a shooting in Texas on June 15.

Robin Crum, 65, and Christopher Crum, 46, both of Livingston, Texas, were arrested Friday, June 21, and charged with first-degree murder.


According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, they received calls about the shooting in Polk County on Saturday, June 15.

Detectives, sheriff’s deputies and Segno Fire and EMS arrived at the scene and found 38-year-old Jillian Rasnick of Bluefield, West Virginia, dead from a gunshot wound. 1st District Justice of the Peace Terri Mayer assisted in the investigation and also ordered an autopsy on Rasnick to be performed by the Harris County Coroner.

During the investigation, it emerged that an argument between Rasnick and the homeowner had led to the shooting.

The investigation, conducted by detectives from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the Texas Rangers Office, the Harris County Coroner’s Office and the Polk County District Attorney’s Office, is ongoing.

Robin and Christopher Crum are being held on bail in the Polk County Jail. Bail for Robin Crum is set at $50,000 and for Christopher Crum is set at $200,000.
