Police say an ‘active shooting’ has been reported in Melbourne

MELBOURNE, Florida – Melbourne police said they were responding to an “active shooting situation” Wednesday morning.

Officials said the shooting occurred in the area between Babcock Street and Strawbridge Avenue.

Police are urging people to avoid the area.

Law enforcement authorities did not provide further details.
