A man was shot multiple times at a northwest Houston motel near Sherwood Lane and was targeted by a gunman on the upstairs walkway, police say

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Police are trying to understand why a man was shot multiple times in the parking lot of a northwest Houston motel.

The shooting was reported to 911 Tuesday evening on Mangum Road near Sherwood Lane.

When Houston police responded to the scene, they found a vehicle riddled with bullets and a man who had been shot several times.

First responders administered CPR on scene and the man was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Investigators believe the suspect opened fire on the man from an upstairs walkway of the motel before fleeing the scene.

The investigation into the motive and exact causes of the shooting is ongoing.
