New Jersey mother charged with murder of two daughters – NBC10 Philadelphia

Police in Ocean County in Lakewood, New Jersey, have arrested a woman after she said she killed her two daughters and drowned them in a bathtub on Tuesday evening.

According to police sources, 27-year-old Naomi Elkins of Lakewood was arrested and charged with murder, weapons possession and other offenses in connection with the deaths of her two children, who were killed in their Shenandoah Drive home on Tuesday.

According to police, officers were called to the house at around 4:50 p.m. on Tuesday because two children had suffered cardiac arrest.

Rescue workers on site tried unsuccessfully to save the lives of two girls aged one and three. Both girls were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, police officials said on Wednesday morning.

According to police, both children – whose exact identities were not disclosed to law enforcement – were drowned, and the youngest child was also stabbed to death.

A source told NBC10 that the children were drowned in a bathtub at the home.

Investigators believe that Elkins, the children’s mother, was responsible for their deaths.

Police officials said she was arrested at the scene.
