Jeremy Renner revealed that the thought of returning to acting after his near-fatal accident 18 months ago filled him with “anxiety.” He shared that he is not so interested in new, challenging roles at the moment as his main focus is on his physical and mental recovery.

Jeremy on his comeback as an actor

Jeremy Renner opened up about not being ready to return to acting after his accident. He told hosts Will Arnett, Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes during an episode of their podcast: Smartless“I just don’t have the energy for it. I don’t have the fuel.” The episode of the podcast was released on Monday. “I have so much fuel to put into this reality, this body, and all this stuff. I can’t just pretend right now. Because that takes a lot of time to come right here every day just so I can, you know, have a positive thought so I can progress and keep growing,” he added.

Jeremy Renner’s Accident Renner, whose Paramount+ series Mayor of Kingstown currently airing its third season, broke more than 30 bones in an accident on New Year’s Day 2023. While clearing heavy snow at his home in Reno, Nevada, he was run over by a 14,000-pound snowcat. Renner said his ribcage was reconstructed with metal and plates were inserted into his face to support his eye sockets, as well as titanium rods in one of his legs.

Renner, awarded for his role as Hawkeye in the Wonder Film universe and for the Oscar nomination for his groundbreaking performance in Deadly Commando – The Hurt Lockerexplained to the moderators that he was not ready to take on a new role. He mentioned that working on an intensive role was not feasible for him at the moment.
