Man dies after being trapped between wall and cargo container

According to Newark Security Director Fritz Fragé, a man died on Tuesday when he was trapped between a cargo container and a building wall in Newark.

It happened at 3:55 p.m. at a store in the 200 block of Frelinghuysen Avenue.

Fragé said Newark firefighters and members of the Newark Police Emergency Services Unit were able to remove the container and free the victim, who was pronounced dead at 4:50 p.m.

The incident is still under investigation, but authorities believe no crime has been committed.
