LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Sources told ABC News that the investigation into who supplied the ketamine that led to the death of actor Matthew Perry is nearing completion.

Los Angeles police sources say the U.S. Attorney’s Office will decide whether to file charges. The case could also be sent back to the District Attorney’s Office.

The investigation has been ongoing since Perry’s death last year and involves the LAPD, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the U.S. Postal Service.

According to an autopsy report released by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, Perry died from the acute effects of ketamine.

The autopsy listed drowning, coronary heart disease and the effects of buprenorphine as contributing factors not related to the immediate cause of death. The cause of death was ruled accidental.

The “Friends” star died on October 28th in his home in Pacific Palisades. He was 54 years old.
