Rape trial in Didcot: Man allegedly raped young girl

Peter Jones, 21, is on trial for a rape that allegedly occurred on December 3, 2021.

It is alleged that Jones raped the girl in a field after the two exchanged nude photos on Snapchat.

However, Jones, of Furlong Close in Oxford, denied the incident and said the incident between the two was consensual.

During the trial on Tuesday (June 25), the jury was shown cross-examination of the girl, who was in her early teens at the time of the alleged offence.

The girl said she had been messaging Jones on the social media app for “a month, maybe two” before they met in person.

When asked if the messages were sexual, she said, “Not from me, but yes.”

However, she said it was “correct” that she sent Jones a picture of herself naked from the waist up.

When asked again whether the messages were sexual because of the photo exchange, the girl said: “I was a child. No, I was not flirting.”

The jury heard that the girl had taken the initiative to meet Jones in person, but denied that it was a date and that she wanted anything sexual to happen between the two.

She said, “No, no. I was a child.”

The plaintiff said she was “excited” to meet Jones and thought it was “pretty cool” that he was a race car driver.

She added that she enjoyed spending time with someone before the alleged rape occurred.

It was reported that the two met outside the Diamond Convenience Store in Didcot and then walked to a field together.

The couple were sitting together on a bench and Jones claimed that the two became close and “cuddled”.

When asked if the girl was “aware that it could become intimate” or if she “wanted” it to become intimate, the girl began to cry.

She said, “You can’t say that.”

When asked if she touched Jones’ leg, the plaintiff added: “He put his hand on my leg. Why would I touch a man’s leg?”

Jones claimed that the two then kissed and that she then touched his genitals.

“I f***ed,” said the girl.

Jones claims he then asked the girl if she wanted to have oral sex with him.

The girl said, “No, he never asked me. He told me. He never asked me.”
