4 people hospitalized after SUV rollover accident in northwest Kansas

LOGAN COUNTY – Four people were injured in a crash in Logan County shortly after 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2017 Dodge Journey driven by Emily S. Newman, 18, of Salina, traveling westbound on U.S. 40 eight miles west of Winona.

The SUV left the road and ended up in the north ditch. The driver overcorrected to get the vehicle back on the roadway and the vehicle began to slide sideways. It slid into the north ditch and overturned on the driver’s side.

EMS transported Newman and passengers Jacob M. Newman, 20, Melissa S. Newman, 46, and Timothy A. Newman, 55, all of Salina, to Logan County Hospital. All four were properly restrained, according to KHP.
