Death of inmate at Texas State Prison Pam Lychner triggers investigation, says TDCJ

ATASCOCITA, Texas (KTRK) – An investigation is currently underway into the death of an inmate who was found unconscious at the Pam Lychner State Jail in Atascocita.

According to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, the inmate was found unconscious on Monday.

Authorities said life-saving measures were taken, but the prisoner was eventually taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead.

The TDCJ said the Office of the Inspector General had been notified.

The cause of the prisoner’s death was not immediately disclosed until the investigation was completed.
