Two boys, 14 and 16, charged with murder of 3-year-old Ramone Carter

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Authorities in Buffalo announced an indictment Tuesday in the fatal shooting of 3-year-old Ramone Carter.

Prosecutors say two boys, ages 14 and 16, are both charged with murder, attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon. The two men were both arraigned in Erie County Youth Court Tuesday afternoon.

Carter was shot and killed Friday night on Domedion Avenue while playing outside with his 7-year-old sister. Police say his sister was also shot but is expected to make a full recovery.

Prosecutors say the two shooting victims were not the intended targets of the shooting.

“An incredible child, he didn’t hurt anyone, and it’s very devastating,” said Martina Carter, Ramone’s older sister. “I never thought a 3-year-old playing outside at a graduation party would be missed, shot and killed.”
