Baton Rouge police search for man accused of brutal rape attack | Crime/Police

A Walker man accused of brutally raping a woman and beating her with a hammer is wanted by Baton Rouge police.

A June 21 arrest warrant charges 38-year-old David Blake Coutee with five felonies – including first-degree rape and false imprisonment – for crimes that investigators say occurred within a two-day period on June 11 and 12.

The warrant states that the man became violent after suspecting another man was present in her home. Investigators say Coutee dragged the woman through her home by her hair, repeatedly struck her and raped her multiple times over the course of several hours.

“At some point, the victim was struck with a hammer on various parts of his body,” the investigator wrote in the arrest warrant against Coutee.

According to police, the man told the victim that he would come back and kill her if she contacted the police.

Coutee is wanted for first-degree rape, second-degree aggravated assault, false imprisonment involving injury to a victim with a weapon, aggravated criminal damage to property and aggravated assault.

The man had previously been charged with second-degree rape for another attack in Livingston Parish, police said.
