Police: Toronto man charged with sexually abusing 10-year-old girl at public swimming pool

A 60-year-old man is facing charges after police say he sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl at a public swimming pool. Investigators believe there may be more victims.

The alleged incident occurred last Tuesday at 5 p.m. at an unnamed swimming facility in the area of ​​Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue West, police said.

A 10-year-old girl was swimming in the pool at the time when the accused swam toward her and sexually assaulted her, police allege.

Police identified the suspect as 60-year-old Atayab Siddiqi of Toronto, who was arrested and charged with sexual assault and sexual battery.

A picture of Siddiqi was released in a news release on Tuesday as investigators believe there may be more victims. Police describe him as 5’4″ tall, 120 pounds, with brown eyes and a shaved head.
