BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – For months, Tehachapi police received calls about a police vehicle driving recklessly through town.

Last week, they received a similar call – and arrived in time to find the suspected perpetrator: an older Crown Victoria owned by 25-year-old Colton Jorian.

According to a news release from the Tehachapi Police Department, Jorian was cited and released on suspicion of reckless driving and driving a replica police car on June 20. No charges had been filed against him as of noon Tuesday.

Police found the car in the parking lot of the Burger King at the corner of West Tehachapi Boulevard and Mulberry Street. The vehicle appeared to have previously belonged to a Southern California police department and was auctioned off, the release said. It was towed and impounded for 30 days.

Anyone with information is asked to call Tehachapi Police at 661-822-2222.
