Four men charged with grievous bodily harm in connection with Mount Greenwood attack

Four suburban men are facing charges of aggravated assault for attacking four other men outside a Mount Greenwood restaurant early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to the incident at 1:40 a.m. Sunday at Barraco’s Ristorante in the 3000 block of West 111th Street, where several men were involved in a verbal and physical altercation, police said.

According to a press release, police have charged 20-year-old Andrew Fedyk of La Grange Park, 20-year-old Frank Paris of River Forest, 20-year-old Harry Kenny of Glen Ellyn and 20-year-old John Powers IV of Oak Park with aggravated assault in a public place, aggravated assault causing serious injury and aggravated assault on a victim over the age of 60.

Fedyk also faces a charge of using a fake ID, Paris is charged with robbery, and Powers IV is charged with aggravated assault with strangulation.

The men beat four men aged 20, 28, 45 and 61, police said.

Police said the four suspects fled but were arrested between 1:45 a.m. and 2:22 a.m. in the 11200 block of South Whipple, the 3000 block of West 111th Street and the 11100 block of South Albany.

The 61-year-old victim suffered a serious head injury and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

Ald. Matt O’Shea of ​​the 19th District said the altercation occurred after the four men were asked to leave and escorted out of the restaurant.

“They attacked and beat a restaurant employee, punched him multiple times and left him bleeding on the sidewalk,” O’Shea said.

O’Shea said the men must appear for a hearing at the Cook County Criminal Courthouse on Tuesday.

“The community is outraged and we are simply asking our neighbors to do what they always do: support the family, support the business and keep the victim in their thoughts and prayers in hopes that he can make a full recovery,” O’Shea said.
