Lane closure on the I-10W bridge, nighttime closures on US-165 near Iowa

SWLA, La. (KPLC) – Motorists should expect heavier than usual traffic today, June 25, as the westbound lanes along the I-10 bridge are closed, according to the Department of Transportation. US 165 at I-10 near Iowa will also be closed overnight.

The right lane of I-10 westbound at the bridge will be closed for routine maintenance from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Both lanes of US 165 Northbound will be closed on I-10 tonight through tomorrow, June 26. Both lanes of US 165 Southbound will be closed on Thursday, June 27. These closures will last from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

DOTD recommends the following detours:

• Because of the northbound closure on Tuesday: Northbound US 165 detoured by heading east onto I-10 South Frontage Road, then north onto La. 101, and then north onto US 165. Westbound I-10 detoured by heading west onto La. 3258, then north onto La. 383, and then west onto the I-10 W ramp at La. 383.
• Due to southbound closure on Thursday: Detour west to La. 101, then south to La. 383, then east to La. 3258, and then south to US 165. The westbound I-10 ramp will remain open for southbound US 165 traffic.
