1 dead after motorcycle crash on I-40, victim identified

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, one person died Monday afternoon due to a mechanical malfunction while riding a motorcycle in Oklahoma City.

According to authorities, 53-year-old Jerry Martin was traveling west on Interstate 40 near Interstate 235 in Oklahoma County on a motorcycle when a mechanical failure occurred, causing his crash, according to OHP.

OHP said Martin was thrown from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident due to a head injury.
