Gaithersburg man arrested and charged with robbing 7-Eleven stores

The 59-year-old is said to have robbed at least five stores between June 5 and 21.

GAITHERSBURG, Maryland – A Gaithersburg man is being held without bail Tuesday for allegedly taking part in a series of armed robberies at 7-Eleven stores, Montgomery County police said.

Earl David Long, 59, was arrested and charged with robbing at least five 7-Eleven stores in Montgomery County between Wednesday, June 5, and Friday, June 21.

The following stores were affected:

  • 8900 block of N. Westland Dr.
  • 10200 New Hampshire Ave.
  • 900 block of Merrimac Dr.
  • 8100 block of Fenton St.
  • 400 block of N. Frederick Ave.

During the investigation, detectives identified Long as a suspect.

Long was taken into custody on Friday, June 21, following the robbery of the 7-Eleven on N. Frederick Ave.

He was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit and faces multiple charges of armed robbery.
