Hartford incident suspects in custody after hitting school bus in West Hartford: PD – NBC Connecticut

Police have arrested two people suspected of firing shots in Hartford after they crashed into a school bus while fleeing police in West Hartford on Monday.

The vehicle, a Kia Sportage, was a stolen car and police said it was involved in a shooting incident in Hartford on Monday.

West Hartford police located the vehicle and attempted to stop the driver, but the man led police on a chase, police said.

West Hartford police then deployed a type of tire-deflating device and brought the Kia to a stop near the intersection of Farmington Avenue and Trout Brook Drive, where it struck a school bus, police said.

The driver was the only person on the bus at that time.

West Hartford Police arrested the driver and passenger of the stolen Kia and turned them over to Hartford Police.

According to police, the bus driver and the two passengers in the Kia were not in danger of dying.

West Hartford Police are investigating the accident.
