Tracking the tropics:

We are observing a group of storms drifting eastward from the Caribbean Sea. It has a 20% chance of developing as it enters the Bay of Campeche. This could bring heavy rain to eastern Mexico by Monday, July 1.

As for the rest of the Atlantic basin, we are witnessing showers and Saharan dust typical of Africa. Dust helps minimize tropical development. This dust will move toward Southeast Texas Friday and Saturday, leading to poor air quality. Saharan dust particles also create beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

Pulses of Saharan dust are entering the Atlantic basin this week.
10-day forecast:

Our 10-day forecast is as typical of a summer forecast as you’ll see. High temperatures are in the mid 90s, the weather is humid, and we have a chance of an afternoon sea breeze storm each day.
