ABC-7 First Alert: Heat rises Tuesday, chance of rain increases

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) – We have an initial ABC-7 heat warning in place. Temperatures will rise today and the chance of rain will increase.

A heat warning has been extended. It is valid from today until Thursday morning at 6:00 a.m.

Temperatures are expected to reach 38 degrees across the region today. Temperatures of 42 degrees are expected in El Paso and 39 degrees in Las Cruces.

The probability of rain also continues to increase locally and in the Ruidoso area.

As of the last update, Salt Fire is burning 7,947 acres and is 38% contained. South Fork Fire is burning 17,551 acres and is 54% contained this morning.
