Arrest warrants say parents were arrested in Myrtle Beach after their children were found in a shed

MYRTLE BEACH, SC – A Myrtle Beach mother and father are behind bars for allegedly allowing their two children to live in a shed that police called “deplorable.”

Kelly Poe and Paul St. Michel are both charged with two counts of assault on a child. Poe is also charged with several drug offenses and card theft.

On June 17, Myrtle Beach Police were called to the 300 block of Cedar Street for a report of child abuse.

According to the arrest warrants, investigators found that Poe and St. Michel let their two children, ages 6 and 17, live in a shed.

The shed was dirty, offered little space, had no sanitary facilities or air conditioning and had no space to store food, the arrest warrants say.

The arrest warrants also show that the victims did not have any spare clothing.
