2 dead in fire along Broad Street in Hunting Park – NBC10 Philadelphia

The burned-out wreckage of a vehicle stood for hours at the intersection of East Hunting Park Avenue and Broad Street in Philadelphia’s Hunting Park neighborhood early Tuesday after a fiery crash killed two people, police said.

According to law enforcement, the incident occurred shortly before 1:45 a.m. on Tuesday.

The impact threw a driver from his vehicle before it burst into flames, police said.

Terrell Mason, who witnessed the incident, told NBC10 that the incident was so chaotic that he was not sure who was responsible for the accident.

“The intersection looks like a total mess,” he said. “You can’t even imagine who hit who or what car came along here. You can’t even look. You would have to look at one of the cameras at one of the stores to find out how the accident happened, because right now you can’t tell.”

The drivers of both vehicles died in the accident, police said, and their deaths were confirmed at the scene.

The police have not yet released any details about the possible cause of the accident or the identity of the people killed in the accident.

However, officials said the investigation into the incident was still ongoing.
