Murder investigation underway after body found in Montgomery

Montgomery police have launched a homicide investigation after a body was found early this morning.

Maj. Saba Coleman told Action 8 News that fire officials and paramedics rushed to the 2100 block of Plum Street around 12:50 p.m.

When they arrived, they found an adult male with a fatal gunshot wound. The unidentified male victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have charged 65-year-old Kevin Chase of Montgomery with murder.

Chase was quickly identified as a suspect and taken into custody. He is currently being held in the Montgomery County Detention Center without bail.

Maj. Coleman says the victim’s name will not be released until next of kin have been notified.

This is Montgomery’s 37th murder this year.
